Everyone says that I will get grey hairs faster if I dont stop dying my hair! Is this true?Does dying your hair often cause you to get grey hairs?
No...that is false. Hair gets its pigmentation from cells at the base of the root. And over time, the cells start producing less pigment until there is no pigment in the hair....resulting in gray hair.
What happens to many people who dye their hair, is the hair is graying as it normally would. But becuase the ends are colored, you may not notice some of you hair has grayed until the roots come out.Does dying your hair often cause you to get grey hairs?
NO
dyes go on the outside of the hair, the natural colour comes from melanin inside the hair follicles.
bleaching and dyeing the hair can damage it, weaken the strands and make them break or fall out. but it will do nothing for the body's production of melanin.
In the natural situation all the hair changes colour a little as you age; blond will go darker, brown will go more mousey, so the early grey hairs don't show up as much. With dyed hair, especially a strong colour, the grey roots are going to stick out like neon lights.
When you go grey depends on general health and what you inherited.
go easy on bleaches, use quality dyes and good conditioners to keep your hair healthy. Eat and exercise well to keep the rest of you healthy.
My opinion is yes! I have dyed my hair once every 6 weeks for 10 years. Im 30 and just started letting it grow out a little because I am trying to get pregnant. I have a lot! Which is not necessarily unusual, but I take after my mom and she only has a couple of strains in her 50s! It does make since though since the new hair growing in has not been touched by the dye??? A small amount is absorbed into your system, which is why I stopped dying.
no if you get your hair colored you just notice the Grey hair more, its more noticeable. hair color doesn't make you have more Grey hair. you could be developing more Grey hair with time and age.
No.
WORRYING about dying your hair does, however.....
Gray hair is hereditary...and hormonal...so no.
