Is it normal if a child begins to grow grey hair?

Well I'm not a child anymore I'm more of like a teenager but when I was eight years old, my hair began to grow grey hair (I have black hair). I never coloured my hair because my parents are afraid that if I coloured my hair it would ruin it and my grey hairs would multiply, but it is multiplying anyways. As of right now my hair isn't actually fully grey but there a lot of it that some people can see it. I didn't do anything about it so I've had it for six years now, but I've always been curious if it is normal. Is it normal if a child begins to grow grey hair?
Some people just get grey hair earlier than others. Its not abnormal. Is it normal if a child begins to grow grey hair?
Unusual yes, abnormal no. It's hereditary if you were to look into your ancestors you'd doubtless find others the same way.

Growing up I knew a woman who's hair was completely grey and she was in her 30's. When I was in my 20's I had a patch of hair on my forehead that was pure white I'm blond so it didn't stand out to much and it's fallen out since, but it looked odd to me at the time.
it's perfectly normal
ok well, maybe it was just like that because when i was little(er) my hair was bleach blonde now, it's dark brown... so ya
its not usual but it is normal. i've that n the most the doctors said was to eat black food like black beans n sesame seed n stuff hehe check this site...it may b helpful :)

Yeah just look at taylor hicks!!!! (american idol winner)
Yeah I know some people who started greying when they were little and now they have grey hair and they're perfectly normal (one is my age, 26). Some people just grey quicker than others.
i heard that when u get grey or white hair or ur hair starts falling out at an young age it could be either hormones or maybe your just stressed out a lot.
My dad once told there are special natural chemicals that decide your hair color, maybe due toa gene defect, said person's hair may turn grey.
My son is 7 yrs old, and started getting grey hair last year. He doesn't have a lot just a couple strands, he calls it his smart hairs....LOL I also think its kinda funny my 6 yr old had his first grey hair before ME!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

I was worried, because I did hear some rare disorders could cause premature greying.......But my sons father was already salt/peppery when he was 20. His mom doesn't remember when the first grey hair started. Anyways, if your worried go to the doctor and ask...your not alone though!!
Perhaps in your family there are other people who have gray hair early in their lives. This is a hereditary condition. There is no problem if you colour it.
Hey there: Best thing you could do is go to the doctor and ask ;)
i think that child is a genius or an old soul. just check out how smart they are in school!!

What is the cause of early grey hair in young people?

I have observed that very young people develop grey hair as against the normal situation of grey hair coming with old age. Is there any medical explanation for that? What is the cause of early grey hair in young people?
It is almost always simply a matter of genetics. If your parents and grandparents went gray early - you probably will too. What is the cause of early grey hair in young people?
sometimes when there is dandruff and proper care is not taken to prevent it, they can weaken the roots of hair and the pigmentation too. also high fluorine content present in water used to wash hair contributes to developing grey hair in young people in some countries. (it also leads to skin allergies and loss of bone tissue etc.,) stress plays a key role in early greying of hair along with other factors like genetics and diet.
Genetics and possibly stress.
Things such as stress can effect hair color and general health of hair but a lot of the time it's in your genes.
Genes and diet. But stress can also cause grey hair in many cases
genetics...look at your dad..he'll give you the answer to what your hair will probably be
Stress, genetics, and diet all play a role
Genetics. I started when I was sixteen, and at 26 I am at least 45% white, just like my parents. Its a horrible myth that stress and diet cause this, it is a simple matter of the hair shaft filling with air instead of pigment.

I am 16 years old and I have grey hair at the tips but black at roots. Why is this happening?

I first noticed grey hair when I was 8 years old. Since then, I've always had 5-6 hairs which are black (my natural colour) at the roots but white at the tips and the rest of the length. Even if I remove them, a hair of same type comes up in its place. Why is this happening and how can I stop it? I don't want to colour my hair.I am 16 years old and I have grey hair at the tips but black at roots. Why is this happening?
heya.....hope the folowin things help u.....so its ur generation problem of getting grey hair or u must be having natural shades or u must be using gell on ur hair thus its turning grey - white...........so dye ur hair BLACK and bathe everyday and shampoo twice a week and always apply hair oil to maintain the blackness of ur hair :)I am 16 years old and I have grey hair at the tips but black at roots. Why is this happening?
I have a friend with a very very similar condition in his hair. It's genetics man, there's not much you can do asides from coloring it.

I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?

My hair are highlighted, but when they grow in between the highlights, the grey starts showing. Its only a few hair in the front. I dont want to start using hair dyes so early and also just for a few hair. Is there any other alternative. My hair are black with blonde highlights in them. I have heard of temporary mascaras, are they good? Also using henna on just those few hairs, would that be good? I also came across some henna shampoos, but I am not sure if they can be used on highlighted hair. Any suggestions, Please.I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?
Use Just For Men dye for the beards. Really. It works. You only make up a little at a time and only use it where you need it. It's not permanent but it only takes 5 minutes and lasts several shampoos.I have started having some grey hair, right in the front. How can I cover it without using hair dyes.?
Well that sucks. I wouldn't suggest any mascaras. I'm just a smart a** and say wear a hat! But you probally should dye it if you're concerned about it.
The colored mascara would work, although there are a few negatives that you should be aware of. The downfall of using them is that every time you wash your hair they wash out. If it rains it will run (and so will any other kind of temporary colors), and they also have a tendency to clump up. Plus, you wouldn't be able to run your fingers through your hair because you would get it all over your hands.

The henna shampoo wouldn't be a good idea because it will also cover your highlights.

If I were you, I would either try the henna color ONLY on the grey area. Or, try a semi-permanent color on the grey area. That's about all the options you have. Good luck with whatever you try!
You can go to any beauty supply store like Sally's Beauty supply sales to the public and they have a crayon looking device that lets you color in the hair between the hair appointments. It is not permanent so anytime you shampoo or wet your hair you will have to use it again but it works between color/highlight appointments.
If it's only just a few hairs as in a few strands, you might just want to pull them out like me :) Of course I'm talking about only 2 or 3 strands, not more than that.
What is your original hair color? If you don't mind reddish highlights and tones use henna for hair. Natural body art quality to be safest !!

For brown tones use henna and indigo mixed together

For black use henna first, then put indigo afterwards seperately.

This is very safe and covers grey very well.

I used Ayur henna to cover my grey hair. But it led to ear and sinus problems.I dont know whether I can use henna again.

Grecian Formula works if you want to keep your natural color, or else just dye it. Of course, as it grows, you must do other things to maintain the grey, so stick with the Grecian. What's the best way to cover grey hair?

Is it normal for a 50+ year old man NOT to have grey hair?

Or are they just pretending that they don't have it by dying it?Is it normal for a 50+ year old man NOT to have grey hair?
well i have some clients that have no grey at that age. if you see them all the time you should be able to tell. they can't hide it forever! Is it normal for a 50+ year old man NOT to have grey hair?
I have a 68 year old woman friend who has like 2 gray hairs, while some people go totally gray at 25.

It's normal for that person.

Sounds like you are more worried about whether he is a liar than if he has grey hair.
Yes it is possible. My grandmother started showing signs of grey hair when she was 70 and her head at 90 was partially black and white.
yeah i think so.. my math teacher is like 53 and his hair isn't gray. %26amp; i dont think he dyes it...
It's not very common, but every one's hair goes grey at different times. My mom went grey at 17, my dad around 50, and I've got some grey at 27. When a man dyes their hair, it's kind of easy to tell since most of them don't get it done at a salon.

  • What causes people to get grey hair?

And why do some get it at such a young age while others can *naturally* stay away from the grey hairs taking over till their 50's?What causes people to get grey hair?
There are cells at the base of the hair follicle that produce melanin, the same chemical/hormone/whatever that allows you to tan. The melan in the hair shaft is what gives its color. As we age, these cells produce less and less melanin. Without the melanin the hair appears white or grey. I assume the reason some people get grey hair so young is the same reason some people get wrinkles younger than others: environmental exposure to who knows what, genetics, etc. Hope this answered a little bit of your question. What causes people to get grey hair?
one thing is ageing! bcoz of that people get grey hair over till their 50's! and for people in young age - they do not eat the nutritional things necessary for really healthy and black and shiny hair! that is it! hmmm... some people say eating green chillies and red chillies makes ur hair really healthy, black and shiny and also lets the hair be grey after a real long time!
hey hiieee kate.......... the reasons for premature greyin of hair can be due to Faulty hair...mental worries and lack of vitamins....sometimes it can be hereditary.....or due to unclean condition of scalp.

sometimes the surrounding also matters the most...if u stay in a polluted area or so.....it equally affect the hair causing various problems such as greyin of hair.....hair breakage....dry hair.....and so on

some of the remedies that i can help u with can be: maintaining a nutrient rich diet....Aviod devitalizing foods, soft drinks etc.Massage your scalp with coconut based hair oil atleast thrice a week.....and Rub Indian gooseberry ( also known as Amla ) into the scalp regularly.

If still u feel that these tips are nt helpin you much....u may visit the link http://healthyhaircareonline.com/

Dr. Aparna Santhanam (Dermatologist%26amp; hair specialist) will surely give u her expert tips for ur hair problem....!!!!
typically heredity and genes are the main factors as to why the hair greys when it does... but the actual process is you start losing the color melanin in your hair...leaving it empty..and when it empties..it leaves the hair looking grey with a slick, shiny, wirey, feel to it...
its a loss of the pigment melanin in the hair. its natural, everybody is different, so people grey at diff times. its natural and cant be avoided, but only covered up
It can be a combination of things.

Stress is a big key factor. Sometimes it's in your genes. If you want to get rid of gray hairs, go to a hair salon and have them dye your roots. =]
Age, worrying, stress - chemicals used in our hair and sometimes sickness or hereditary genes.
Grey hair is caused when the things in your hair that give it colour, die off and grey hair starts to grow.
The cells containing the pigment (i.e. the colour of any hair) slowly die as you get older, meaning that there is less colour until it turns completely gray.

    stress, genetics, and aging.
    Genetics or Old Age.
    I guess it's genetic. I'm 33 and have plenty.
your body stops producing the pigment that is needed for that hair color.
idk but when they get old they get grey hair.
    children...children cause gray hair!!!
