You know, like some blonde people go really white, and some brunette people have dark grey hair? Why do we grow grey hair after a while? How does it lose it's color? What determines it's shade or whatever?
The pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die as we age. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color - like gray, silver, or white - as it grows. As people continue to get older, fewer pigment cells will be around to produce melanin. Eventually, the hair will look completely gray.
Melanin: pigment cells continuously produce a chemical called melanin that gives the growing shaft of hair its color of brown, blonde, red, and anything in between. Why do we grow grey hair after a while? How does it lose it's color? What determines it's shade or whatever?
Hair color is determined by the amount of pigmentation, among other things. So, as hair ages, along with your body, and starts to lose it's pigmentation, it starts to gray. But, since it was blonde to begin with, it already had a different amount of pigmentation than the brunette next door, so naturally, it will gray differently as well.

Will drinking a lot of carrot juice stop grey hair?
I'm 15 and have at least 25% of my head covered with white hairs..I usually dye it but I heard that drinking carrot juice would return the hair to its natural color, being black. Is this true? and how much would I need to drink to do this? Will drinking a lot of carrot juice stop grey hair?
Once your hair strands begin to turn gray then they stay like that forever. There isn't any natural or manufactured formula that will change it back to it's natural color. Genetics and stress are just two things that can cause graying - and you've pointed out that it's genetic. Just continue to dye it like you've been doing because that's the only thing you can do.Will drinking a lot of carrot juice stop grey hair?
hunni thats not true, your hair is white because the pigmantation has gone and nothing can bring that back. Dyeing it is your only option, but i would say you are a bit on the young side to be getting white hair, is it in patches clumped together?
Haha i totally got the wrong end of the stick there. Either way no carrot juice wont help with the colour of your hair ....... but i have heard that it makes you see in the dark!!
Ah i was right he was talking about going grey. It's very rare but there is a condition that causes you hair to go white in patches ( just cant think of the name...ah even if i could remember i'd never be able to spell it )
Yeah if you dad has it then it was always on the books that it could happen to you. They know why your hair goes grey ( no pigmentation ) but they no idea why some people stop producing it and other dont and at different stages in life.
I believe by white he means that after dying his hair (after bleaching it) his hair is white, but it should grow back as it's natural color.
And I would dismiss that as a stupid rumor.

Hair grows white when the color pigment (melanin) ceases to be produced in the hair follicle and small air spaces take its place. Check out http://useinfo-grayhair.blogspot.com/ for more info on gray hair.best antivirus software

How does George Lamb have grey hair?
he cant be any older than 30 odd. I've heard of premature baldness in men but never premature grey! Or does he dye his hair? If you think he dyes his hair any ideas why?How does George Lamb have grey hair?
-Vitamin B12 deficiency
-Neurofibromatosis (also called Von Recklinghausen's disease). This group of inherited diseases causes tumors to grow along nerves. It may cause the bones and skin to develop abnormally.
-Tuberous sclerosis. An unusual, inherited condition that causes benign tumors in multiple organs (including the brain, heart, kidneys, eyes, lung and skin)
-Thyroid disease
-Vitiligo. This condition causes melanocytes (the cells at the base of hair follicles that produce color) to be lost or destroyed鈥攑erhaps because the immune system ';misfires'; and attacks the scalp rather than an infection.
-Alopecia areata. A disorder in which patches of hair may be suddenly lost, especially the colored (non-gray) hairs. This may lead to ';overnight'; graying because previously present gray or white hairs suddenly become more obvious. When hair growth resumes, it may be white or gray, but colored hair may eventually return.
-Some research also links premature graying to heart disease and low bone mass (called osteopenia, a precursor of osteoporosis). How these conditions relate to hair graying is unclear. Cigarette smoking can also cause premature graying. How does George Lamb have grey hair?
Sarcasm is not your strong suit I see.

What can I do to stop myself from getting Grey hair?
Ebola, and leprosy? What can I do to stop myself from getting Grey hair?
I wouldnt care if your hair started turning to red and black and grew a United logo on the top
Ebola and leprosy are also welcomeWhat can I do to stop myself from getting Grey hair?
To keep from getting grey hair, dye it. That's the only way. Genes are responsible for when and how much grey you get. If you're older, age gracefully. If you're younger, accept the fact that you are going grey. It could work to your advantage!
there,s only 2 things you can do and that,s either shave your head or dye your hair.

Is there an out of the box hair colour that really covers grey hair?
I have yet to find any out of the box hair colour that covers all of my grey hair. If anyone knows of one that really works please tell me the make. I end up having to colour my hair every 2-3 weeks. They all say 100% grey coverage but none of them actually completely colour my grey roots. I am tempted to go grey, but I am 43 and am not ready to show my age yet. If anyone has had great success please let me know.
Thank youIs there an out of the box hair colour that really covers grey hair?
If you wanna try this: When you buy haircolor yourself check the number in a packet. If there is a number like 5.53 number 53 means there is a fasion seire color in it, and fasion serie doesnt cover grays. Try to find box where is only one number like 6 that means it is a natural color(name natural color sounds bad, but they have really pretty colors), and they hide the grays. Best serie in hairsalongs for hide the grays( my oppinion ) is Goldwell. Hope my answer was useful! Is there an out of the box hair colour that really covers grey hair?
None I've tried has ever covered my white hair.
Get your self some 'L'oreal Excellence Creme' They have a whole bunch of new colors. It is the best I have found. It will give your hair a streaked color. It turns out georgeous. You can get it at the drugstore.
DO NOT DO IT
I finally got hair professionally dyed and streaked and it has looked very natural with no Grey roots for over 31/2 weeks (knocks on wood)

?Can I stop coloring my grey hair? - want to go back to grey is there a grey hhhair?y hair?
I w脿nt to go back to my natural silver haircolor. Is there a silver/white hair colorant? Can't find it anywhere!?Can I stop coloring my grey hair? - want to go back to grey is there a grey hhhair?y hair?
dye it blonde and then use purple shampoo
it will gradually got a silver/white colour :)?Can I stop coloring my grey hair? - want to go back to grey is there a grey hhhair?y hair?
I suggest camouflaging the gray roots using a low-light or color-weaving procedure.
Let your natural hair-color grow out as far as you can stand it. This may be 陆 inch or 1陆 inches depending on you. At that point, go to your hairdresser to have the roots ';low-lighted'; To accomplish this a tint, matching the ends of your hair is used. A low-light is created just as a high-light is, using foil or a frosting cap, except that a tint is used instead of a lightener to color certain strands of hair. The effect is to ';break up'; the root area, taking away the line dividing roots from tinted hair.
Occasionally the procedure may need to be repeated a second time in one or two months. Fewer low-lights should be added at this time. In this way you will become accustomed to your new salt %26amp; pepper look as it grows. Your natural hair-color will soon be long enough that the old tinted hair can be cut off.
After your hair has been low-lighted, it is helpful to choose a new shorter, layered haircut. This will remove some of the old tinted hair and reveal more of the natural hair that you want to show. Wearing your hair long will prolong the process of getting rid of the unwanted tint.
Going from tinted hair to natural is never easy, but the low-lighting process will make the transition as painless as possible.
