Why does grey hair grow faster than the regular hair that surrounds it?

I know why grey hair turns grey (that's not the issue), I want to know why does it grow back faster if you were to pluck it or even if its a new grey hair to begin with. Or better yet, is it the fact that any existing hair that is normal in color breaks down and becomes grey in a short period of time leaving me to think that its a new grey hair that has grown? Why does grey hair grow faster than the regular hair that surrounds it?
If its really growing faster , it might be the same reason that older guys grow hair out of their noses and ears, some kind of hormone change or male menopause thing. That could be another yahoo question, in the meantime you could dye your hair with hair dye or shoe polish and use tiny scissors to clip your nose hair or have the barber do it.Why does grey hair grow faster than the regular hair that surrounds it?
This could be in your head. Like you are super aware of the gray hair because you are watching it all the time.

Otherwise, I would make a guess that because it lacks color pigment it can be grown faster. Also, hormonal changes that cause gray hair as we age, also cause hair to grow faster or slower. So does the seasonal changes: in cold weather, hair grows faster. In hot, it grows slower.
