18 and it was hard for me.......At what age did you find your first grey hair?
I'm now 27 and I noticed my first grey hairs (yes,plural) when I reached 13! My mum had it young too but neither of my brothers or sisters have. It is to do with me being a 'born worrier'. I always wanted to protect my family even from far back as 6/7 years old and always worried about family paying bills and for siblings to get fairly treated even though I'm not the eldest. Ironically, my Mum and I are very similar people but she is the eldest of siblings.





My mum has told me it is hereditary but without the proof of my siblings, or family on Mum's side, having the same thing I think she is only trying to make me feel better.





Having the grey hair was a little alarming at first as I thought I had the one and then noticed dozens lurking underneath and were mostly on one side because when I delved deeper I noticed I had some on the other side too. Once the I got over the shock, I thought it was sooo cool. From there on I got more and I kept getting told by schoolmates (not friends) that I was a 'granny' and being told to dye it from friends and family but I always held my ground as it is what made and makes me unique - part of my Identity. I hardly had any on top of head and they never outbalanced my very dark hair but it was long and very noticeable.





Growing up was harder and I got more pressure to dye but did not cave. A few years ago an inadvertent result of me getting great hair with volume etc made it less noticeable i.e. it hid them and now I have colour in my hair so I hardly see them, which was not the intention when I went to get my hair done. I want them back to complement my hair but trying to tell the hairdresser to miss them is impractical.





I need not worry though as they will be back with a vengeance.

i was 55 years old,then i started losing it.
none ... yet. my mom is 56 and doesn't have any yet so i'm guessing i'm not gonna have any for a while. :)

not so worrying having a few grey on your head - not looking forwrd to grey pubes. When does this occur?
I was 25. am no 48, and have been dyeing my hair for years....... black, brown, highlighted, auburn, and now blonde.

Sadly somewhere in middle school I think it was because of my low copper levels
When I was 76 I found my first grey hair.

age 21. what a drag. it is hereditary in my dad's family to go grey prematurely early.
i haven't got one yet but a friend of mine got some at 12. my sister also got one at 14.
Well when I was born b/c its a family trait everyone in my family is born with a gray hair
I haven't found any in my hair, But my7 year old cousin has Grey hairs.

i have been bleaching and toning my hair for so long now that i wouldn't even know if i DID have a grey strand :-)
lol. im 14 and i found one a few years ago lol. my sister pulls it out but it always comes back lol. just the one though. there is no more lol. my mum says i had it since i was born. just the one lol. she says its lucky lol. i dont really mind lol. not even when it accidently is on the top of my head and everyone can see and remark lol.
