What happens when you pull a grey hair?

Does another hair grow back in that spot or does it just stay empty? What happens when you pull a grey hair?
The old wives tale that if you pull one gray hair, two will grow back is simply false. Hair's grow out of hair folicles. You have a certain amount and however many you have will not increase. Although they can get damaged or clogged and hair can quit growing out of these, you don't get 'punished' for yanking some with double the hairs [gray or otherwise] growing back in... .What happens when you pull a grey hair?
another hair will grow from that follicle, also the same color will appear
If you're young, a new one will grow back, but not grey. That strand of grey hair is that color because it has not fallen out to produce a new hair. So no worries!
It hurts

another gray will grow back in its place
more grow in so dont do that just dye the grays with the new grey solution!!!
If it were that easy, nobody would go for electrolysis.

I don't know all the scientific reasons, but it will grow back gray.

A badge of honor for getting older..

I have one of those noticeable streaks myself.. wonder if I brought it on w/hair straighteners because that was a stubborn curl spot.

Anyways, I lighten and color my hair now, and I'm very comfortable w/the color..reminds me of my very young days.

If you're young, you might want to let nature take it's course for a while.

If you're older, and the grays gather, you may want to color.

Once you find a color you like, you may be glad to dye your hair.
Haahaa...good question
If the root comes out, it stays empty.
supposedly 3-5 grow back in it's place if it's true well it seems like it but i think if you stress about a gray that you pull then grays will start to appear more for you are stressed and you are looking hard for them
